At twenty she asked to become a nun, but her parents needed her at home and asked her to wait, and she did. In 1921 she joined the Zealous Sisters of Eucharistic Adoration, who pray before the Blessed Sacrament, and took the name María de los Ángeles. She later moved to Madrid.
When the Spanish Civil War began in 1936, the convent was attacked and the sisters scattered. She was found hiding, arrested because she was a nun, and shot on August 26, 1936. She was beatified in 2005.
