Their story
Genesius was a public notary at Arles and a catechumen (a person preparing for baptism). When he was given an imperial edict against the Christians to copy, he threw down his pen and fled the town.
He was overtaken and beheaded on the banks of the Rhone. Prudentius calls him the glory of Arles. Butler places him about the beginning of the fourth century; Baring-Gould gives about 303.
